Good morning! There were a lot of playoff games last night; let’s highlight the three best games.
Heat/Hawks: Game 1
Trae Young was ready to carry the Atlanta Hawks to victory. Unfortunately, the Miami Heat had a game plan to shut down Young, and they did so to perfection. Young finished the game with 8 points, well below his average points per game. Young shot 1-of-12 from the field, and 0-for-7 from three. Jimmy Butler, on the other hand, dropped 21 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Duncan Robinson also played a huge role, dropping 27 points while shooting 8-of-9 from three.
Final score: 115-91. Heat lead Hawks 1-0.
Celtics/Nets: Game 1
This was by far the most drama-filled game of yesterday. It had all the elements of a playoff game; Grant Williams and Marcus Smart playing great defense on Kevin Durant, who finished the game with 6 turnovers. Kyrie Irving made sure to tell the Boston crowd “Eff You” with 39 points and quite literally giving them the middle finger. We had a down to the wire outcome, which eventually resulted in one of the best playoff buzzer beaters since Kawhi Leonard in 2019; Tatum got the ball from Smart, spun around Irving, and laid the ball up and in as the buzzer sounded.
Final score: 115-114. Celtics lead Nets 1-0.
Bucks/Bulls: Game 1
The outcome of this game was what most people predicted-a Bucks win-but it was a much closer game than many people anticipated. Both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Zach LaVine played the fourth quarter with five fouls, meaning they couldn’t be their normal, aggressive, selfs. Nikola Vucevic put up 24 points and 17 rebounds, but the Greek Freak was more dominant, with 27 points and 16 rebounds.
Final score: 93-86. Bucks lead Bulls 1-0.

This was a very exciting game, but needless to say, I sit here today wondering what happened to KD. Boston played outstanding defense and hopefully the Nets can address this problem and find a way to free-up KD so he can play his game and avoid the turnovers. Meanwhile I say GO NETS.
