3 Sentences About Every NBA Team For This Upcoming Season (Part 2)

Houston Rockets:

I’m disappointed for the Rockets, since they missed out on Paolo Banchero and Chet Holmgren. I don’t think Jabari Smith, Jr, has the potential that either of those top two players has, and worry he’ll be a disappointment. Still, the young core of Smith, Jalen Green, and Alperen Sengun will be fun to watch.

 

Indiana Pacers:

Tyrese Haliburton will evolve into a star this season. I’m excited to see Jalen Smith, Chris Duarte, and Bennedict Mathurin improve this year. Will the front office hurry up and trade Myles Turner and Buddy Hield to a contender already?

 

Los Angeles Clippers:

I’m so glad John Wall is finally on a team where his talents will be used, and not wasted. We haven’t seen a healthy Kawhi Leonard–Paul George duo in a while now; plus with a new point guard, they’ll be even more lethal. I think we know who the best team in LA is.

 

Los Angeles Lakers:

Patrick Beverley and Russell Westbrook…seem to be getting along for now. What does LeBron James think of this situation? Will Anthony Davis stay healthy this year, and if he does, can the Lakers actually compete in the Western Conference?

 

Memphis Grizzlies:

If Ja Morant takes another leap (pun intended) this year, then he’ll win MVP. Call me crazy, but he feels like the answer to the whole “What if Derrick Rose never got injured” scenario. Oh, and the Grizzlies still have Jaren Jackson and Desmond Bane.

 

Miami Heat:

Have the Heat been spending the offseason rebuilding, or wondering what would’ve happened if Jimmy Butler made that three in Game Seven? I know I’ve been doing the second; and wondering when Pat Riley is going to trade Tyler Herro. Kyle Lowry is such a bulldog and fun to watch when he’s on your team; but how many years does he have left in him?

Bonus fourth sentence: I love Butler’s new Miami hair!

 

Milwaukee Bucks:

The Bucks don’t need any new pieces; they just need their old championship team healthy so they can run it back. If Khris Middleton stays healthy, this team will be just fine. However, while Giannis Antetokounmpo dominates the NBA, keep in mind that Middleton and Brook Lopez are in contract years…

 

Minnesota Timberwolves:

The Karl-Anthony Towns/Rudy Gobert pairing is going to be so much fun to watch this year. And like the Timberwolves front office said, they didn’t give up Jaden McDaniels in this trade! On the other hand, Anthony Edwards has made this a less enjoyable offseason after this.

 

New Orleans Pelicans:

Zion Williamson is back, has lost weight, and is ready to dominate. Herbert Jones is looking like he’ll make 1st team All-Defense, Brandon Ingram is poised to average 25, 7, and 7, and CJ McCollum will have a huge impact, just like he did last year. Plus, I can’t wait to see how Dyson Daniels plays as a rookie.

 

New York Knicks:

The Knicks aren’t going to change much this year. Jalen Brunson was a great offseason addition, but unless Julius Randle and Derrick Rose have bounce back seasons, much won’t change. Maybe RJ Barrett will flourish, but in a newly loaded Eastern Conference, I doubt the Knicks will even make the play-in.
