Gordon Hayward has just signed a 4-year, $120 million deal with the Charlotte Hornets. He signed this deal after he opted out of his $34 million player option with the Boston Celtics.
The Hornets have a history of trying to get Gordon Hayward on their roster, as they tried to sign him in 2014. Unfortunately for them, the Jazz (Hayward’s team at the time) matched the offer and kept him.
The Charlotte Hornets future looks a lot better. They now have an All-Star on their team for the first time since Kemba Walker, and have their #3 overall pick, Lamelo Ball, to bring in fans and dish out assists. With these two recent moves, the Hornets are definitely playoff contenders for the 2020-2021 season so long as injuries don’t lead them astray.
